has decades of post-graduate experience in toxicology, pharmacology and related fields. She has been consulting on a full-time basis since 1990.

Prior to consulting, Dr. Rice enjoyed a career in academia. She was a faculty member at Stanford University School of Medicine in the Department of Anesthesia, and concurrently a Research Scientist at the VA Medical Center, also in Palo Alto, CA.
During her tenure with these institutions she was Principal Investigator on NIH and VA grants and performed in vitro, animal, and clinical research as well as mentoring medical students, anesthesia residents, postdoctoral fellows, and MDs.
Dr. Rice received diplomate status with the
American Board of Toxicology in 1990 and
was re-certified
in 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2020.
She holds a doctorate in Comparative Pharmacology and Toxicology and a
Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry from the University of California at Davis.
